Texas Educators: TEA Needs Your Input
Each year TEA invites groups of Texas educators, both general and special education, to provide feedback on the development of state assessments (STAAR, STAAR Alternate 2, and TELPAS) through educator committees across all assessed grades and content areas. Developing high-quality, aligned questions relies on the expertise and experience of Texas educators from across the state. Participants collaborate with other educators from across the state to review and approve each potential question for state assessments.
The commitment is generally two to three days in Austin with all travel, accommodations, and substitute coverage paid for by TEA. All participants will earn Continuing Professional Education credits. If you are interested or know other educators who would like to participate in a committee, please share this application link. |

Texas Parent Involvement Survey 2023The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA 2004), Section 616(b)(2)(B), requires that states collect data from local education agencies (LEAs) to report annual State Performance Plan (SPP) indicators to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). This year the Texas Parent Involvement Survey window will be April 10 - May 19, 2023
. LEAs selected per cyclical monitoring cycle will receive a link to the survey to disseminate to parents of students receiving special education services. Visit the SPEDTex website to view past Parent Involvement Survey reports.
