School Progress, Part A: Academic Growth
2023 STAAR Raw Scores and Scale Scores Associated with the Calculations of Academic Growth (August 15, 2023), are available on the Performance Reporting page.
This resource outlines the performance level indicators for STAAR 3-8, STAAR Alternate 2 and EOC assessments, to then attain academic growth measurement in Part A: Academic Growth calculations.
The School Progress, Part A: Academic Growth domain provides an opportunity for campuses to receive credit for STAAR results in reading/language arts (RLA) and mathematics that show annual growth and/or demonstrate accelerated learning.
Annual Growth indicates the amount of improvement or growth a student has made from year to year. For STAAR assessments (with or without accommodations), annual growth is measured by a transition table. Please see Preliminary Chapter 3—School Progress Domain, for further details pertaining to School Progress, Part A: Academic Growth.

Annual System Rollover
Online systems for the Texas Assessment Program will be offline from 6:00 p.m. (CT) August 18 through 1:00 a.m. (CT) August 28, 2023, to complete a system rollover. This includes the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE), the Centralized Reporting System (CRS), and the Test Delivery System (TDS). District testing personnel should download any data files or certifications needed prior to August 18. All student data will be cleared from the TIDE, including rosters, and students will need to be added to TIDE for the 2023–2024 school year. In addition, user passwords must be reset. Practice tests will continue to be accessible in guest mode, and the Secure File Center and the Learning
Management System (LMS) will be available for registered users through the Testing Personnel page of the Texas Assessment website.
STAAR Grades 3–8 Results Available in the Family Portal
As a reminder, final results for the spring State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) grades 3–8 assessments will be available for parents to view in the Family Portal beginning August 16, 2023. District personnel should ensure that log-in information, especially students’ unique access codes, is provided to parents. To learn how to locate and share access codes with parents, refer to the How to Look Up Family Portal Access Codes in TIDE training video posted on the
Family Portal Information page on the Texas Assessment website. In addition, the document Helping Parents Access the Family Portal, which includes answers to frequently asked questions, has been posted on that same webpage.
Updated STAAR Alternate 2 Participation Requirements
Based on information from the U.S. Department of Education, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has been working to update STAAR Alternate 2 documents and trainings to ensure all students are appropriately assessed. As a result, TEA has updated the STAAR Alternate 2 Participation Requirements for the 2023–2024 school year. The updated participation requirements are posted on the STAAR Alternate 2 Resources webpage.
iPad OS Secure Browser Version 9
The updated mobile secure browsers version 9 for supported versions of iPad OS is now available in the Apple App Store. Minimum System Requirements for the 2023–2024 school year are available in the Technology Resources section of the District and Campus Coordinator Resources. District personnel will need to update both the desktop secure browser to version 16 and the mobile secure browser for iPad OS to version 9 for the new school year.
