Raw Scores and Scale Scores for grades 3-8 will be available in August.

Campus Comparison Groups Available in TEA Login (TEAL)

The 2022 –23 Campus Comparison Groups are now available within the TEAL Accountability application. Each campus is assigned to a unique comparison group comprised of Texas schools that have similar demographic profiles. These comparison groups will be used to award distinction designations. Public release of this information will be September 28, 2023.

CCMR Tracker Release: Stage 2A Released in TEAL

The College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Tracker is now available within TEAL. The CCMR Tracker Part 1 was released on March 31, 2023.  Part 2A is now available with updated indicators. There will be a Part 2B release to include sunsetting IBCs in late-July. The CCMR
Tracker contains students who were in grades 9–12 on the 2022–23 PEIMS snapshot, but the 2023 version does not contain results from school year 2022–23 as those data have yet to be reported. For more information on sunsetting IBCs see Chapter 2 of the 2023 Preliminary Accountability Manual and the Industry-Based Certification List for Public School Accountability page.

HB1416 and Accelerated Instruction Update

Accelerated instruction requirements were modified by House Bill 4545 of the 87th Legislature and recently updated with the passage of House Bill 1416 in the 88th Legislature. TEA guidance and FAQs have shared that TEA intends to propose rules that utilize the “Low Does Not Meet" and "High/Does Not Meet" performance levels  for State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) Math and RLA that were created as a part of the 2023 A-F Refresh for measuring Academic Growth in the School Progress Domain. Performance Reporting shares the raw scores and scale scores associated with high and low performance level designations on the 2023 Development page . Additionally, Performance Reporting has created a guide for districts to access 2022 accelerated learning rates in their Preliminary 2022 What If reports and student listings. This guide is located within TEAL.

Local Accountability System

Now is the perfect time to explore the local accountability system and learn how your district can develop a plan using your existing priorities and data!

Local accountability is an optional, first-of-its-kind initiative at the district level to measure campus-specific outcomes.

Texas is the first state in the nation to adopt a formal way for districts to choose local measures that may be included in a campus’ official state accountability rating as reported on TXschools.gov.

A district local accountability plan:

  • provides stakeholders with detailed information about school performance and progress over time,

  • communicates priorities and demonstrates a commitment to achieving the components in the plan, and

  • signifies the importance of local goals by publicly releasing local accountability system ratings.

District staff wishing to learn more about the local accountability system and how to develop a district local accountability plan can participate in a 45-minute overview webinar that includes time for Q & A.

Register now to join us via Zoom on Tuesday, July 11 at 2:00 p.m. (CT) to learn more!

June 2023 STAAR Administration

Complete Administration

District personnel must ensure all score codes and student information for the June 2023 STAAR administration are entered in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) by June 30, 2023. This includes student demographics, program enrollment, and designated supports. If district personnel make changes to the information after this date, those changes will not be included in accountability reports. The reporting student data file format is available on the Texas Assessment website.

Student Responses

District testing personnel must ensure all student responses for paper administrations of STAAR are entered and submitted in the Data Entry Interface (DEI) by 11:59 p.m. (CT) June 30. If student responses are not submitted in DEI by this date, the responses will not be scored. It is highly recommended that districts reserve the last 2–3 days of the testing window for DEI submissions.

Returning Paper Test Materials

The deadline for districts to ship all paper test materials to Pearson for the June 2023 STAAR administration is July 14. All materials should be returned in the same boxes in which they were received using the return labels included in the shipment. Refer to the District and Campus Coordinator Resources for instructions on preparing materials for return.

Minimum System Requirements 2023–2024

Minimum System Requirements for the 2023–2024 school year are now available in the Technology Resources section of the District and Campus Coordinator Resources . The updated desktop secure browser version 16 for supported versions of macOS, Windows, and Linux will be available on the Texas Assessment website in July. District personnel will need to update desktop secure browsers to version 16 for the new school year. Additionally, the URLs for the Test Delivery System (TDS) will be updated for the 2023–2024 school year.

Annual System Rollover

TIDE, TDS, CRS, and the Learning Management System will be offline from 6:00 p.m. (CT) August 18 through 1:00 a.m. (CT) August 28, 2023, to complete a system rollover. District testing personnel should download any data files or certifications needed prior to August 18. All student data will be cleared from TIDE, and user passwords must be reset. Practice tests will continue to be accessible in guest mode.
