A–F Estimator Tool (TEAL) Release
An updated A–F Estimator has been developed to reflect 2023 accountability methodology and is now available within the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application. The A–F
Estimator prepopulates domain and component values with 2022 What If results. Users can enter predicted 2023 component values to estimate the corresponding 2023 domain and overall results. The accuracy and validity of the estimation is based solely on the data input by the user, and their understanding of the accountability system methodology.
Domain and overall rating estimations in the tool are based on the Preliminary 2023 accountability system methodology and are intended as a planning resource for districts and charter schools.
What If Report (TEAL) Release
What If ratings are now available to districts through TEAL as an excel data download. The What If ratings shared in TEAL applies the refreshed A–F framework to 2022 results. What If ratings are preliminary, based on 2023 Preliminary Accountability Manual methodology. Upon the final adoption and ruling of the 2023 Accountability Manual the 2022 What Ifs and final 2023 ratings will be reported on TXschools.gov.
Preliminary 2023 Accountability Manual
The Preliminary 2023 Accountability Manual, Chapters 1-12 are available here. Chapters 1–12 are open for public comment May 19, 2023–June 20, 2023. Details on the public comment period and how to submit comments can be found at:
Proposed Commissioner of Education Rules | Texas Education Agency.
The final 2023 Accountability Manual will be published in Fall 2023.
CCMR Verifier
The College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Verifier is available in the TEA Login (TEAL)
Accountability application from Thursday, May 24 to June 21. The CCMR Verifier provides districts an opportunity to verify the accuracy of their CCMR data and, if needed, submit official documentation to correct data. CCMR indicators determined by TSDS PEIMS submissions are not eligible for corrections, and therefore, will not be shown. The CCMR Verifier will contain data for 2021-22 annual graduates and non-graduating 12th graders.
Final 2022 Graduation and Dropout Information (TEAL) Release
Graduation data was released on June 8th in the TEA Login (TEAL) within Research & Analysis application. The 2021-22 annual dropout summary report provides annual dropout rates for a district and its secondary campuses by grade span (Grades 7-8, 9-12, and 7-12). The student listing presents information on the data used to build the rates. A summary report is created for each campus and district that had one or more Grade 7-12 students in attendance during 2021-22.

FAQs
What are Campus Comparison Groups?
Each campus is assigned to a unique comparison group comprised of Texas schools that are most similar to it. To determine the campus comparison group, each campus is identified by school type
then grouped with 40 campuses that are most similar in grade levels served, size, percentage of students who are economically disadvantaged, mobility rate, percentage of emergent bilingual students/English learners, percentage of students receiving special education services, and percentage of students enrolled in an Early College High School program. Campuses in a comparison group come from anywhere across Texas.
Campus Comparison Groups are coming soon! They will be released in TEAL in Mid-June.
What are the opportunities for data correction in TSDS PEIMS?
The accuracy of all accountability reports is dependent on the accuracy of the information submitted by districts through TSDS PEIMS. The TSDS PEIMS data collection has a prescribed process and set calendar for correcting errors or omissions discovered after the original submission. Districts also have the option to access various summary reports through the TSDS PEIMS application to assist them in verifying the accuracy of their data prior to submission deadlines. For each submission, a resubmission window allows districts an opportunity to resubmit information if an error is detected. Data submitted to the Working File are not used in accountability calculations. See the Texas Education Data Standards at
Texas Education Data Standards | TSDS (texasstudentdatasystem.org) for more details about the correction windows and submission deadlines.

Spring 2023 STAAR and STAAR Alternate 2 Administrations
For the spring 2023 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) and STAAR Alternate 2 end-of-course (EOC) assessments, early student results with passing information will be available in the Central Reporting System (CRS) beginning May 31, 2023, for district testing coordinators, as well as all authorized users. Early data files will be posted to district coordinators’ secure inboxes in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) on this same date and are in a custom data file format, which is available on the
Technology Resources page of the Texas Assessment website. The early results now include students’ performance levels for STAAR EOC assessments and STAAR Alternate 2 EOC assessments. Lexile and Quantile information reported for STAAR English I, English II, and Algebra I is preliminary and will be updated in July.
As a reminder, CRS allows authorized users to view secure test items. These test items remain secure until they are released to the public in August.
Minimum System Requirements for 2023–2024
The Minimum System Requirements for the 2023–2024 school year is now available in the Technology Resources section of the District and Campus Coordinator Resources
. The updated desktop secure browser version 16 for supported versions of macOS, Windows, and Linux will be available on the Texas Assessment website in July. District personnel will need to update desktop secure browsers to version 16 for the new school year. Additionally, the URLs for the Test Delivery System will be updated for the 2023–2024 school year.
