CCMR Verifier
The College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Verifier is available in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application from Thursday, May 24 to June 21. The CCMR Verifier provides districts an opportunity to verify the accuracy of their CCMR data and, if needed, submit official documentation to correct data. CCMR indicators determined by TSDS PEIMS submissions are not eligible for corrections, and therefore, will not be shown. The CCMR Verifier will contain data for 2021–
22 annual graduates and non-graduating 12th graders.
What If Report (TEAL) Release
What If ratings will be available to districts through TEAL as an excel data download on May 31, 2023. The What If ratings shared in TEAL will apply the refreshed A–F framework to 2022 results. What If ratings are preliminary, based on 2023 Preliminary Accountability Manual
methodology. Upon the final adoption and ruling of the 2023 Accountability Manual the 2022 What Ifs and final 2023 ratings will be reported on TXschools.gov.
Preliminary 2023 Accountability Manual
The Preliminary 2023 Accountability Manual, Chapters 1-12 are available here. Chapters 1–12 are open for public comment May 19, 2023–June 20, 2023. Details on the public comment period and how to submit comments can be found at:
Proposed Commissioner of Education Rules | Texas Education Agency.
The final 2023 Accountability Manual will be published in Fall 2023.
2023 Campus 3–12 Enrollment List Now Available
District domain and overall ratings are changing to a proportionality method to improve the alignment of district overall ratings with campus overall ratings. This is based on the number of students enrolled in grades 3–12 at each campus receiving domain grades. District enrollments were set in October 2022. This list is posted on the 2023 Accountability Rating System page.
We are Hiring!
The Performance Reporting division is hiring a Policy and Communications Director to engage and collaborate with stakeholders on state and federal accountability systems. The Director will support the continuous improvement of the state accountability system, oversee special projects that develop and evaluate potential revisions or additions to the system, and review and interpret policy related to the state and federal academic accountability rating and reporting systems. The leadership of this individual will directly contribute to the academic achievement of over 1,200 districts and 5.5 million Texas students. We are looking for a leader who is a highly effective communicator and collaborator
who can drive results. The application is available here; applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
SPRING 2023 STAAR ADMINISTRATION
Early Student Results
As a reminder, early student results for the spring 2023 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) administration will be available in the Central Reporting System (CRS) for district testing coordinators beginning May 22, 2023. Early data files will be posted to district coordinators’ secure inboxes in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) on this same date. Early student results from this administration will be available in CRS for other authorized users beginning May 25. CRS allows authorized users to view secure test items. These test items remain secure until they are released to the public in August.
The early results from CRS are in a custom data file format, which is available on the Texas Assessment website at Technology Resources. Early results include raw scores, not performance levels, and may be used for making student-level decisions. STAAR end-of-course (EOC) assessment performance levels will be available in CRS on May 31 for district coordinators and June 5 for all other users. STAAR grades 3–8 performance levels will be available in August.
Data Corrections
As a reminder, the data correction window for STAAR EOC assessments is May 23–30. Districts must resolve student information and test discrepancies and may submit score code changes during this window. Changes submitted during the data correction window will be reflected in the final assessment reports for accountability to be provided on August 8 for STAAR EOC assessments. Any updates made after the data correction window will be included in scheduled updates but will not be reflected in final assessment reports for accountability.
JUNE 2023 STAAR ADMINISTRATION
Creating Test Sessions
Beginning May 26, 2023, district testing personnel may create test sessions for the June administration of STAAR in the test administrator interface of the Test Delivery System (TDS). For more information on how to create test sessions, refer to the TDS User Guide.
Setting Eligibility Fields
As a reminder, district testing personnel must set first-time testers’ June End of Course Eligibility field to “Yes” in TIDE. For retesters who are registered in TIDE, Cambium will mark the retester flag and set the June EOC eligibility value by May 30, as indicated in the Calendar of Events. District personnel may use the Additional Student Fields template to update students’ June End of Course Eligibility fields in TIDE. May 30
is the deadline for district personnel to indicate student eligibility for a special paper administration of STAAR. District personnel must ensure students are appropriately registered in TIDE by this date to receive sufficient paper materials in the initial order shipment. Initial order shipments will arrive in districts by June 19. District personnel may place additional orders from June 14 through June 23 for students whose eligibility for paper testing is updated after May 30.
STAAR ALTERNATE 2 ADMINISTRATION
District testing personnel must resolve test discrepancies and submit score code changes for the 2023 STAAR Alternate 2 EOC assessments during the data correction window from May 30 to June 5, 2023. To submit a score code change, district personnel should select the “Change Score Code” option under the Request Type field in the Appeals/Score Codes module in TIDE. Changes submitted during this window will be reflected in updated reports that will be provided on July 31. Any updates made after this window will not be reflected in reports used for accountability.
