February is National CTE Month

Happy CTE Month! Texas Education Agency continues to celebrate the achievements and contributions that CTE programs provide in preparing students for high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand careers.

JET Grant Announcement from TWC

The Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) program provides grants to eligible entities to purchase and install equipment necessary for the development of career and technical education (CTE) courses or programs that lead to a license, certificate, or post-secondary degree in a high-demand occupation.

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has published a Request for Applications (RFA) for the JET Grant Program for Public Junior, State, and Technical Colleges, Texas Independent School Districts, Open-Enrollment Charter Schools and the Windham School District. The JET program has approximately $8.6 million to provide grants to these applicants in FY 2023.

Proposed IBC and Programs of Study Accountability Phase-In

The Performance Reporting Division updated the proposed phase-In timeline for IBCs and programs of study for accountability in February.

Proclamation 2024 State Review Panel

The Texas Education Agency needs volunteers to review career and technical education materials submitted in response to Proclamation 2024 to determine the extent to which the materials address the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. We need reviewers for the following courses:

Candidates must be available during June or July 2023 and be able to read on a computer screen for an extended period.
