Employed Teacher and Administrator Demographics
The Employed Teacher and Administrator Dashboard provides statewide, annual demographic information for employed teachers, principals, and superintendents .
Version 1: The data on this page reflects all available information through the most recently available academic year. It is best viewed on a desktop screen. The visualizations are generated by the Power BI application and best practices have been made to follow WCAG 2.0 standards. Specific keyboard commands are needed to access and navigate through the data which are not the standard keyboard commands some screen readers use. You can press Shift + ? to access keyboard shortcuts.
About the Data
This dataset includes all teachers, principals, and superintendents employed in a Texas public school system. Academic years are between September 1 - August 31. Data on the Demographics tab spans from 2018-2019 until the most recent reporting year. Data on the Experience tabs spans from 2015-2016 until the most recent reporting year.
This dashboard was generated using these Business Rules.
Dashboard Data Downloads
The data behind the dashboard can be downloaded below.
- Navigate to the first tab: Employed by Role - Gender
- Select a Role from the dropdown menu at the top of the page
- The view will now display the percentage employed by Gender for your selected role:
- Navigate to the tab: Employed by Role -Ethnicity
- Select a Role from the dropdown menu at the top of the page
- The view will now display the percentage of individuals employed for each race/ethnicity for your selected role:
- On the bottom of the page, you will see arrows that allow you to move between pages.
- Use these arrows to toggle between the different views
- Navigate to the tab: Administrator Experience
- Select a Role from the dropdown menu at the top of the page, or select all roles to see trends across administrators
- The view will now display the average years of experience for your selected role. In this example, we selected all types of administrators:
- The data is updated in the spring of each academic year.
